In a bid to decentralize services to the local communities, one of the MUBS alumni, the Chief Justice Flavian Zeija led a team of Judicial officials to Kalangala , March 2026 for the official launch of the first of the three boats procured to support the moblie court system.

The mobile court initiative set to commence operations in March 2026, with the goal of enhancing access to justice for island communities in Uganda will support the locals in island regions where permanent judicial facilities are absent.

The launch will advance the mobile court initiative and allow residents to witness their rights to justice in various cases at the islands.

The launch was attended by numerous judges and high-ranking management officials. The Chief Justice was accompanied by Principal Judge Jane Frances Abodo, Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Judiciary Pius Bigirimana, and Acting Chief Registrar Pamella Lamunu Ocaya
